My birthday was yesterday and I realized that I am one year older.  Funny how that works!  Each year God takes you through a journey that will grow you, teach you and allow you to gain more wisdom.  The older you are, the more life experience you have, and that can either be good or it can be impossible.  You can become a person who is full of life and sees everything they have been through as building blocks to a stronger character, or you can see life as a burden too hard to carry.

For me, the older I get the more I realize how fast this time here on earth passes by.  36 years I have been alive and even as I sit here, I wonder where did my life go?  We are only but a Vapor that comes and goes and one day we will take our last breath here on earth and then stand before God.  This really got me thinking about how I live my life.  On that day when I die, will I be able to look back and say that my life meant something?   Or will I look back with total regret?

I believe we are created for great things and have a purpose far greater than ourselves.  When I die, I pray to God that somehow and someway, that I was able to point people to the feet of Jesus.  Whether it was through the love of Christ, or through encouragement, or even being there for them when they are struggling to exist.  I want them to be able to look back when I die and say that God used Travis in a way that really inspired them to seek after God with their everything!  If not, then I feel like I have failed and my life was about me!

We were created to have a relationship with God, and live life together to glorify Him.  Life isn’t about how much we can gain for ourselves, but how much we can give to others.  So, the question is, what will be your legacy when you die?  What will people say about you?  Will your life even matter?  Will you have influenced anybody for God?  Will people come up to you in heaven and say thank you for sharing the love of Christ?

It is not too late as long as you still have breath in your lungs.  Each year we get older and wiser, that should empower us to grow closer to Christ and fulfill his calling on our lives.  And each year we have more time to reach out and share the love of Christ on people who really need it.  Don’t wait till it’s too late, but start today.  And invest into things that will last forever.
